Hope you are staying cool! This proof set caught my eye and I picked it up for $2.50 about a week ago. Counting the coins inside it cost me $1.59 so why not? Well I left it in my car when I got busy with work. Well we went from a mild winter last week in Dallas to blazing summer today. I found this when I got in my car after work. Before: And After: Thanks for looking. Enjoy a nice patio and a beverage. Today is the day. Make yours a great one!
Oh man..... Well I think we should make a link to this thread for when folks ask how to open the mint plastic. Easy answer..... Hot car interior...... I am mixing my beverage now, thank you.
Plastic was hard when I found it even though it was pretty much the hottest hour of the day. Still sealed with no cracks or breaks. It’s just melted and deformed. The bubble is furthest in front of the dime.
I was just about to post this, but you beat me to it! It does look interesting; @kSigSteve just made a fairly average proof set quite unique!
Im at a really nice Ramada inn, drinking an adult beverage sitting in the hot tub. To keep it coin related, those '84 -'87 proofsets can acquire some nice toning on occasion, i like that Kennedy
Yeah, well I'm in a cardboard box under an overpass sipping Faygo-brand soda pop from a hubcap... I think the 1998 set is better.
Oh yea, i got thrown out of the hotel, for imsufficient funds. I had to sell my coin collection to buy this computer I'm on and I don't have internet anymore
