1984 P Quarter , what's this error?

Came across this.

I have many coins ( seems to only be on Reeses *lol reeded* coins) with this.

Can see a 9 between the '1' and '9' in "1984" or I'm crazy.

 

Im gonna say yes you are crazy!!!!

 

Based on my past of CRH I know I use to see things that wasn't there, the slight little PMD ( post mint damage) would cause my eye's to play tricks on me.LOL

Not crazy at all. You just have a normal human visual system working in the normal way -- finding patterns in what you see. But sometimes those patterns are illusions, and I think this is one of those times.

 

What is on the top of the coin?

Showed this coin to people who don't know a damn thing about coins and even they can see visible markings.

That's only a 4x zoom camera.

 

Wish I could invert the colors, it's so much easier to see.
