New coins from coin show

    Hello, yesterday I was at local coin show and I buy these four scarcer coins for 100 eur. Please post your opinion on coins or what you think is relevant.

    Constantine I. A.D. 307/10-337. Rome, AE follis, 19 mm, 2.7 g,
    Ob. CONSTANTINVS AVG, helmeted and cuirassed bust right , Rev. ROMAE AETERNAE, Roma seated right on round shield, holding shield inscribed X/V; P-R in fields, RP in the exergue. RIC 146.

    Very nice details on obverse and reverse. This is my first ROMA AETERNAE reverse.

    That type with one captive is unusual. In fact, when Mattingly wrote 1933 article in Numismatic Chronicle article "FEL TEMP REPARATIO" he neglected to include the type.

    Here is another one:

    Yes. I believe it is concurrent with the two-captive type. It appears only from Thessalonica, which did not strike any with two captives.

    Nice coins, here’s my Carinus
    Carinus AE-ANT 283-284 CE
    Obv: IMP C M AVR CARINVS P AVG
    Rev: VIRTVS AVGG, A in lower field, XXI in exergue. RIC V-II 325, 20mm 4.03 grams.
