Who knows Denmark?

    I have a bunch of 25 Ore coins that are demonetized. Do banks in Denmark still accept them for exchange? What I’ve read indicates no, but I wanted to check anyway.

    Maybe a quick trip up North from where you live will be a good way to find out ;)

    The voice of authority speaks. :) Nah, not me, but the central bank:
    "All coins issued after 1875 with a value of 50 øre and upwards are still legal tender and can be exchanged for new coins. The 25-øre coin ceased to be legal tender on 1 October 2008. Encashment of the 25-øre coin was possible until 1 October 2011."

    I had seen this and was hoping there was some special exception. I guess I'll have to figure out what to do with all these coins!

    I heard there was an American buying up vast quantities of US pennies. Perhaps there is a Dane doing the same for his own countries coinage. :D
