Does anyone have a link to what the error looks like? There are a number of auctions on ebay with different spear errors, but i question the authenticity of them, or if they are in fact they are worth anything. Below is one i found selling for $30. What does everyone think?

I don't have a link, but a book that I have has a nice clear picture. The die dent starts just above the buffaloes hump right where the hump starts to slant down to the rear. It proceeds downward at a slight rearward angle stopping about half way between the belly and the ground, emerging from the belly about 2/3 of the way back from the front leg to the penis. I see nothing in your picture that looks anything close to what is in my book.

yeah, the one pictured above was being sold as rear spear error, or something like that.

Personally, I don't think that any of the die crack errors on the modern Buffalo nickel are worth anything.

I agree to a point! I like the speared Bison I believe it is classified as a die gouge but I'm not willing to pay hundreds for it.
Here is a link I found that shows the "Speared Bison" .
