What is this number 4 just below the CE in CENT there appears to be another one below it and a letter u to the LEFT actual coin is much clearer also looks like a S as well as a D mm C6B9DE5A-48E8-4B26-91FC-AEB14288CA01.jpeg D6450DFC-513A-4E00-BA4D-3FC4CB77A146.jpeg

The surface damage might make it look
like there's there, but there isn't.

It's just a worn, and somewhat corroded
    surface coin......

I think I can see an image of my grilled cheese sandwich under the "R" in "AMERICA".

Oh no, didn't this just happen a few days ago? Let us not get trapped into what happened that day, please.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

That would be a good idea. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out.

I write that because you have no idea of the experience and knowledge of the people you are talking to and your lack of respect for them.

Okay, so perhaps you could be so kind as to explain exactly how this fantastical "error" could have occurred? If you wish to attack the membership, claiming they do not "no" (know) what they're talking about, the least you can do is back up your assertion. An understanding of the minting process is usually very helpful in situations such as this.

Perhaps, sir, you would be best served by familiarizing yourself with pareidolia. This isn't an insult, is something that impacts each and every one of us, and is actually represented on the Connecticut State Quarter, but what it does do is perfectly and reasonably explains what you think you're seeing.

Now I'll sit back and wait for the insults to start....

Which day was this, Tommy? My memory isn't what it used to be, but it seems to me this sort of thing is an at least a once a week occurrence. ;)

Budw1976, I have found many Lincoln cents with assorted damage that "looks" like very interesting things and have posted them, but have been shown that mint damage falls within certain perimeters. The help above know of what they speak.

Okay... what would you like insulted? Want me to take a cheap shot at your avatar? :troll: Darn it, I can't - I love too much what Benz did at the 1994 Indy 500 for Penske.

Not sure what day, having senior moments. It was about the coin that the OP suggested he was offered $20,000.00 for by Paul Defalice after Fred told him it was damaged. The mods finally shut the thread down.

Oh, yes... now I remember. There was another in which Kermit flicked Gemmy the bird (and Doug forgave her - you can't make this stuff up!) so I was confused. ;)

not to hijack this thread, but that guy with the
$20,000 coin (and the 'locked' thread) has sent
me at least 4 emails this week with the most vile
horrible language I've ever seen. I replied to him
once, telling him I wasn't the one who booted him
off CT (that's what he accused me of, among other
things), etc., but he's sent me three more that would
    make all of you blush!
