Lets see if you can guess which variety site has this DDO listed . Here's coppercoins . http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php Here's coneca . http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/DDO 1985.htm Here's wexlers . http://doubleddie.com/828886.html First thing I'll use is images of the outside devices, including liberty . Keep in mind these images may have nothing to do with this DDO . I other words, this area is just listed in the description as being doubled . No images were taken by the variety site . This coin is also in VLDS . Next I'll post the images that were used by the variety site . I matched them to the images taken on their site too, but did not crop them . Good Luck . Last, here's the full shots .
Wasn't looking at the inner 8. The lower left of the 1 is different and the separation of the lower 9 is not there. It didn't look as thick to me. I was more looking at how the 5 was angled upward from the 8. The die markers for the WDOO-003 didn't show in the pictures. The CONECA was the closet that I thought. I'm still learning!
I went through all the ddo(s) from the variety sites . Used all the images to find a match and came up with . Wexler #3 .
I have a 1983 penny it looks like there's a die crack on the obvious side plus it looks like it was punched off center let me know what you think
No harm, no foul. It's just better to start your own thread in order to get as many eyes on the coin as possible. And yes... that's a crack.
