I was looking on another site and a post was made about the appendix in the Cherrypickers' guide being 'must reading' on a topic (double die vs. machine doubling). I'd like to learn more about errors in general and was curious if there is a recommended reading list or website list. I'm not so interested in a US-centric approach for specific coins, but rather a more general approach as most of my error coins that I pay attention to are Japanese of all things. Unfortunately the pinned post about doubling on this page has a bunch of broken links. Any recommendations? Is the Cherrypickers' guide worth picking up anyway (or at least volume II for the appendix(ces)? Thanks!
The correct numismatic terminology is actually Doubled Die.. not double die. Big difference! http://www.error-ref.com And http://doubleddie.com
