There was a thread today where someone thought that they had a 1955 ddo penny, which turned out to be completely fake and homemade by someone. I said I would make one to show that the coin was not real. Now the thread is locked to future replies... Here is my 1955 double struck Lincoln cent for anyone who wants to see it. I think I will start this for $20k on eBay...ok, I'm just kidding. This one is going in the back page of my album.
I know. I was just digging around in my bag of wheat cents, and that was the first 1955 coin I found. I don't really care what mintmark it is. I do know that the 1955 ddo was on Philadelphia-minted coins only.
The Grand Daddy of them all... the legend...with the naked eye...my luck in finding such a valuable, famous, naked eye discovery - my heart would give out ..
by the way before they finally locked the thread for replies, there were 6 pages of replies and the op still was not accepting anybody's wisdom in coin collecting, when I post a thread I just accept one or two reply thank the people and that's it, next time should just cut a op off after 5-6 replies not feed into their denial for 6 pages
you really marred the backside. use a thin piece of wood or soft plastic to cover the metal jaws. I'd rather just use a modern zincoln to prove a point. I may do it this weekend. My vice's has jaw covers to prevent marring for jewelry/watches, etc. I also have a manual 2 & 4 ton press somewhere. Could really smash 'em together.
Don't you know it is not about the $20K you will receive for this coin? It's a good luck coin..........
