    Yup. Often called a catamount, but panther, cougar, and mountain lion are the same.

    Ain't a mammal. Could start another thread on birds. There's more than one species on U.S. coins.

    True, but it's known as the buffalo nickel, so it's hard to discuss that coin without using biologically incorrect terminology.

    Yeah. Except as a joke, can't imagine someone going to a dealer's table at a show and saying they'd like to see his bison nickels. Sometimes common usage beats science and grammar ... ain't it so? :)

    human
    horse
    ox
    bison
    moose
    narwhal
    dolphin
    grizzly bear
    badger
    catamount (panther, mtn. lion, cougar)

    But there are at least four more.

    I spent a lot of time making this diagram about ten years ago. I haven't seen anything that looks like the red thing on a US coin.

    Actually, come to think of it, I'd better go back and look at some of those road-rash threads...
