And yet another mint set find...

Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

First off let me say I love going through mint & proof sets. I guess it's a high from the thrill of the hunt? This is one I almost missed just because of the angle of the lighting hiding the splits along the top letters. Coin in question... a 1963 25c with a strike through on the obverse and DDR. The strike through is due west of Washington's nose and the DDR which matches up with the DDR-001 on VV (including the DDO-007). Lighting and angles were tough to capture with my camera, but I think I caught enough for verification. Looking forward to hearing what you all think (I think?). 2018-04-26 15.37.12.jpg 2018-04-26 15.37.58.jpg 2018-04-26 15.38.19.jpg 2018-04-26 15.40.04.jpg 2018-04-26 15.40.32.jpg 2018-04-26 15.47.52.jpg 2018-04-29 08.23.25.jpg

The issue next to the nose could be a hit from another reeded edge.. I'm sure others will say the same.

No raised edges along fault lines, and smooth inner canyon although there are a few rim dings on George's forehead and cheek. I'm a little more certain of the strike through unfortunately than the DDR, and I'm pretty certain of that. The strike through was more of an added bonus, I didn't want to add more pics of that when I'm more interested in the DDR.

It's just damage. Not a DDR.

Could you get some shots of United? Thats where the doubling seems to be the strongest.

UNITED is somewhat weakly struck and not showing up good in any picture I take. The tops of the T & E show the strongest doubling and then the rest of SOA 2018-04-30 09.06.04.jpg 2018-04-30 09.04.14.jpg 2018-04-30 09.04.29.jpg and EPU. STATES from what I see shows the strongest and most visible splits. I focused in on the L in LIBERTY, the date, and IGWT to show the DDO-007.

Mint Set Varieties are the BEST! Even better I love Souvenir Set varieties from visits to the mint!

Always trust your eye and a quality loupe...I can't tell you how many pics I take where it can't accurately capture what I see through my loupe and taking quality pics takes much practice and is almost an art.
