Bleached big time Clembo...washed as well more likely in the pocket of some jeans... Cool none the less!! Thanks for sharing.. RickieB
OK, Bleached is leading 2 to 1 BUT the reverse of the note is normal. I can provide scans if you don't believe me. Of course I could scan the reverse of any note and say it's this one so just trust me on it Ok? In hand there is a faint hint of serial numbers and seal. Can one bleach just one side of a note? Circulated note no doubt but bleached? Hmmmmm....
The possibility of bleaching as I see on this note was that when the bleach was added it was a almost direct pour on the face of the note. As the water became more dilute, the effect did lessen..again this is just a possibility. RickieB
lol .. would love to see pics of the testing room as to how the serials got that faint ... a good mystery. What i think might be the likely culprit is at the time of printing, this note recieved ALOT less then its fair share on the serial/seal printing. so it started its life very faint to begin with - after being used and thrown away a few times, it arrived in the very loving hands of a collector and is very faint .....
Looks like linen contact toning. Must have been in the Battle Creek hoard. NGC gives lots of stars for those babys !!!
Based on the scan, I wouldn't dismiss that this is an inssuficient ink error note so quickly. Would have to see it in person. Bleaching is usually not done with Bleach, but rather something else. I've never done it personally so I don't know what the preferred chemicals are.
