https://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=202688 The ones I am missing I just sent in for grading, as there have only been 5 sets of them graded so far, and I have not seen any for sale. Unfortunately will most likely end the run of 70's in this set when I get them back.
I didn’t know a registry set could ever be completed... I mean there’s always a better coin (usually at a “better” price) right? This is my NGC 7070+Gold set: https://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetGallery.aspx?PeopleSetID=190377 A lot of coins are still missing, but I don’t want to rush it... quality over quantity. @jpcienkus I remember you had a great 7070 set too!?
Wow, I didn’t know there were sets for Disney coins. Although I think colorized coins are a fiasco from an investment point-of-view, it’s certainly a great idea for kids or those who don’t want to grow up
Neat way to keep track of things........ https://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/co...ulation-strikes-1946-1951/publishedset/136829
Thank you very much for your kind comments. I haven't given up on it. I have quite a few more coins to add to it. I have to decide whether I want to try to cross some of the coins from PCGS. I'm trying to learn to photograph coins as well. Once I get semi-proficient, I plan to spend a lot of time updating my set and update my comments associated with the coins.
I'm not a big colored coin fan, but I did break down and buy two sets: Great Lakes set directly from the Canadian Mint. They are still in their mint capsules. Year of the Snake colored coins from Perth Mint. I bought these in MS69 slabs. Just wanted the protection, plus they were about the same price as ones in airtites. I just love the design on both sets. I added them to my collection because I enjoy the bullion pieces. I will likely lose money on them over time. Don't really care though.
HI my Barber Half Dollar set just had to sell 2 weeks ago to help with some medical issues Thanks for looking https://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/ev...an-barber-half-dollars-1892-1915/album/146905
This one is #86 whooo-hooo and it will never get much higher. I have most of the coins required but they are raw, frankly not worth sending in. On occasion I've been known to buy one already PCGS graded to add to the set. I have found some for less that $20.00. https://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/ha...ulation-strikes-1909-1958/imagegallery/160014
Now this one is #17 my birth year set. I only need one more to complete it. It must be in the same style holder as the other 2. PCGS Generation 2.2 https://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/u-s-coins/mint-sets/1944-mint-set/imagegallery/160013
This is one of my sets and is more for sharing numismatic information. Yes, the video and links are functional in my custom set. https://coins.www.collectors-society.com/wcm/CoinCustomSetView.aspx?s=12054
I had plans to someday do a registry set but I never stayed with one brand of slab. When NGC quit allowing PCGS slabs, it killed it for me. Can't talk myself into crossing either direction. The cost and risk are just too much.
I agree it can be quite expensive to cross coins, but there is no risk at all. At least when crossing PCGS to NGC you have to enter a minimum grade on the crossover form. If the fields remains empty, the coin needs to cross at the same grade or at a higher grade. If it doesn’t cross at least at the same grade, they won’t crack it out.
I pretty much gave up when ngc stopped talking pcgs slabs too I’m in full agreement with Larry. Especially as I had a lot of cac approved coins too. I’ve sold a lot of my collection too as I needed money
