    I picked this one up in @John Anthony 's sale of two weeks ago, it is an As of Augustus. This brings my total 12 Caesars' coins to 3, so I have nine more to go.

    Caesar Augustus, 27 B.C. - A.D. 14

    AE As, 10.5 grams, 27mm, 7h; Rome mint;

    Cn Piso Cn, F, moneyer, 15 B.C.

    Obverse: CAESAR AVGVSTVS TRIBVNIC POTEST; Bare head right.

    Reverse: CN PISO CN F IIIVIR A A A FF around large S C

    Reference: RIC I 382, p. 70.

    Please feel free to post any coins of Mr. Augustus or other 12 Caesars!

    Nice one @ancient coin hunter !

    Hey, I never thought about it, but I have an As of Augustus - one of the 12 Caesars... I got this one from @Valentinian ... really cool as I understand this may be a retarrifed coin later in the Empire so that the Legions could have pocket change. From Harl, "Coinage in the Roman Economy"

    It took me more than twice that amount of time, and even more for my MA Legionary set which I've been working on for almost 40 years (off and on of course).

    i've been collecting over 14 years, but i didn't start "trying" to get'em all(12) until about 2 years ago in silver, but that went south purdy quick.. i'm still short Otho and Julius coins just for generic (silver AND non silver) 12.. but i'm not really too worried or pursuing them at the moment...or @ least i wasn't unless this puts that coinbug in my head..again o_O:wideyed::eek::rolleyes::wacky::woot::jawdrop::woot:

    ..i'm lacking 4 for 12 in silver, but they're the toughest ones being Julius, Caligula, Claudius and Otho, what i will now call Jcco. getting that 12 will be a lifetime achievement for me. just getting the two will be a great achievement:)
