    Greetings all,

I know that this post may bring up some sad memories of loved ones that have passed; it is not my intention to do so and for this I apologize ahead of time. When my father died he left me some monetary items that include his brand new truck, stocks, bonds, coo coo clocks, and lots and lots of guns. Months after the funeral I was going through some stuff that my father had left me. Two items he left behind to me in an old wooden box was his high school ring and a Peace Dollar Pendant that was attached to some keys. Needless to say I cherish and treasure both of these items.

The coin has no monetary significance; to which I could care less...it belonged to my father. He carried it around when he walked this earth. I now carry it where ever I go and I will pass it along to my son one day. Something so little means so much to me as it was the property of my mentor, my role model, and my hero. The impact he made in my life can not be measured but only appreciated and lovingly accepted. Thanks for listening to my story and as always enjoy what remains of your day.

P.S. (Thanks Dad, I love you and miss you every day)

    MJH

When my grandfather passes, I'm inheriting his collection, I'm not selling it for a loooong time.

My father served in the South Pacific during World War II in the Navy and this was in his war memorabilia. 1944filip.jpg 1944filip1.jpg

My mom and dad were buying 5 proof sets and other coins for us 5 girls(god bless dad) we never knew. Found them ina crawl space a few0 years ago. Called a meeting and decided to leave them alone. They were marked by name of sisters. We were more interested with the notes that were provided to all of us as individuals. Grandbabies births birthdays weddings. Etc... Us girls sat around for hours reliving my parents thoughts what these sets meant to us and them. Was a ton of fun. Jhand written notes for each and everyone. They are all in the same boxes and notes undisturbed for the young adult and families they were intended for. The youngins get a feel what grandma and grandpa of how they love them all

This coin was given to me by a fallen comrade of the 82nd Airborne Division. Will never let it go, because of the connection it had to him. AATW

Not that you would want to ever sell it but the holder that coin is in is called a spinner. The holder itself is collectible whether the coin is or not.

    Dan, welcome to CT!

So, looking at the title of this thread, do you have a story to go with this damaged 2002 quarter, or did you intend to start a different thread for it, since this one is intended for inherited items?

Well planosteve because I'm a new member and had no Idea how to post the picture and create a thread I just wanted to see if I could find out something about this coin. But because some people seem to be EDited like yourself and downy give a crap about anybody else just yourself hoping you will find someone that inherited a rare cointhat you might be able to Rip them off so in sorry if I posted someplace that I shouldn't. Shows that.

    Hmm....

Hijack a thread, insult people for asking you about your worthless garbage, and make some strong accusations. Edited

You are one of the few and special people that I recommend using youtube to learn about numismatics (aka 'coin collecting'), and uncover the riches awaiting in your loose change. I advise quitting your day job to devote all of your resources to this, so you can become rich right away!
