    get closer to a light source.
    Make sure your camera is not blocking the light source.
    make sure the light source angle is not going to create a bright spot to the phone camera sensor.

    Assuming just your camera phone, If you are outside on a really bright day (or super bright light source), then blocking it directly may help as the light reflecting from all over will still keep good lighting on the item.
