$330 on the Buff. I think you got a great deal on it. I think I remember you posting that when you showed the pics for the first time in another thread.
@Randy Abercrombie , you have to wait to win a "guess" before being able to post. Nice coin BTW. I believe Jtlee321 has the floor.
Just keep playing and hope you get the floor. As you can tell from the points table, I don't get the floor much...lol.
That is exactly why I don't like this coin. The marks on the neck look like electrode contact points and the even coloration on this coin is atypical of Peace Dollars. When I gave my opinion on this coin years ago, Mumu jumped down my throat. His response was not as reasoned as it was to you just now. And I actually love that coin, it is stunningly gorgeous, but IMO, the coin is AT so I would avoid it because I don't like being in deep on what I consider AT coins. As for my poker games, I play $10/$20 & $20/$40 limit Holdem which are the same size as a $2/$5 NLH game in terms of pot sizes.
See I knew he was around. Lehigh, do you think the 20 or so exact same marks on the red 24 i posted are also all electrode marks?
You are gonna have to show me which marks you are talking about because to my eye, they all look like toning breaks and not at all like the spots on the 21. Ya know, we’ve been arguing/disagreeing about this coin for at least 5 years now. No matter the originality of the toning on your 21, you still have the finest collection of toned Peace dollars I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure why it is so important to you that I agree with you about the toning on the 21.
Well I appreciate the overall compliment. But discussion is the only way to discover things. And sometimes discussions can get hostile for various reasons, sometimes directly or indirectly. I feel that having an opinion is one thing but if it can hurt the value of a coin at the veryy least expect a discussion from me. I havent seen any evidence that thoe marks prove contact marks from an electric device and you havent offered any. So it feels like an unresearched knock. I have a lot of P$ with those same circles with dots inside that if isolated to 2 like that would also look like contact marks. I feel that has been the most compelling evidence that its natural. I am not mad about it. I enjoy the banter.
It did, years ago. There is no way to provide evidence and I doubt that my opinion can seriously hurt the value of the coin considering that NGC considers the toning market acceptable. I agree that vigorous debate is a good thing and leads to intellectual discovery, but I simply don't want to have the same discussion that I had years ago. If you recall, I have owned several Appalachian Jefferson Nickels which bear a real stigma of being AT despite residing in NGC holders so I am not someone who refuses to accept coins that have questionable toning.
