Nothing special, but I liked the eye appeal of this Barber dime and needed to fill a hole in my virtual 7070 album Thanks to this new addition, I moved up to rank # 49... Jason, I am catching up!!!
No worries thanks it was a rough weekend a funeral for a friend on Saturday she turned 51 on the 4th gone on the 9th.
Happy Birthday Paddy!! In honor of your Birthday I'll post my 1954 Proof set for you. I think you said it was your birth year?
Here's a coin I bought a day or so ago. I probably overpaid, but just couldn't resist. The Obverse is severely clashed. I can't wait to see the coin "in hand" so I can better understand the clash marks and how the missing marks were polished off. I just don't quite understand what I'm seeing. It seems more like a squeeze job than a clashed die. However, I think I see polished off remnants of DIM[E] in the field and [H]ALF over the top of the shield. Ideas?
Well here is a overlay to compare the clash. Even though it isn't the correct reverse overlay....the lettering did not change just the wreath, To my eye I'm thinking spot on.....very cool find and that's from a half dime collector who would love to have found it. Two thumbs up! Plus and everyone loves a plus...RPD 002 1860/1 @yakpoo
Picked this up today. Not what I usually buy but I like the design and Courtney is from Texas. So do I resell it or give it to her
Here's a Half Cent I got today at a small coin show. Such a shame about that graffiti, but I got it on the cheap.
So without the damage, this coin shoots out of my price range. This worked out perfect for my 7070, all the design details are there. A solid example of the type. I paid $30 for it.
Picked this up last week. 1837 by jpcienkus posted Apr 10, 2018 at 7:53 PM 1837 reverse by jpcienkus posted Apr 10, 2018 at 7:53 PM
