2003 Alabama state quarter no clad ?

    I collect coins and metal detect as well. I found this today, I found at least thirty cents a day on my walks. If anyone could let me know what you think, it would be amazing and an early bday present.

    It is what is often referred to as "environmental damage", and is something you'll likely see a lot of metal detecting.

    Fair point, but something tells me you already knew the answer. Unfortunately, this simply isn't the case with a certain forum echo.... am I wrong?

    Missing Clad layer errors usually occur just on one side of Clad coins.
    I also metal detect and have found thousands of Clad coins with Environmental Damage. I'm surprised you haven't seen this issue before o_O
