I doubt the person marking the coins was searching for errors. They are marking each batch of coins they search with a different color to try and learn how long it takes for their marked coins to show up again in boxes, as well as to try and save themselves time searching through the same coins again and again.

    I am against marking coins

I’ll be heading to NO for business until late next week. With none of my banks having branches there don’t know what I’ll do. Finished up the week with two boxes today. All I found was this:

Wow Charles - looks like AvgCollector hasn't posted for 9 years???

Anyway, if my bank wouldn't give me Circulating Legal Tender of ANY denomination, it wouldn't be my bank for very long. A letter to the Federal Reserve would be in HIGH ORDER as well...

Misery loves company. I was once bringing a large quantity of deutsche marks to the bank and an entire box fell off and spilled on the ground out front.

I agree. If you have a roll with certain 1981Ds the roll will weigh more than a roll without and a roll with certain NIFC years weigh slightly less, weighing rolls for solve rmisses a lit

scan9093.jpg Found this acid treated buffalo. Looks to be a 1918 and I believe I see an S on the back. Scans aren't very good but are 1200dpi.
I outlined where the S must be with a red line.

Finished my 6 boxes of halves for the week. Fairly slim pickings today:
2x90%- 54d, 63p Franklins (which finished off a solid roll of Franklins)
    6x40%ers
    2xProofs (73S. 86S)
    1938 Great Britain Penny

I ordered 6 boxes of cents this week so my son could have a box to search himself. 5/6 boxes are solid 2018P. :vomit: Of course, he got the mixed box. So far after 8 rolls he has pulled out 7 wheats. That kid as all the luck lol. At least I will get to search the dregs for varieties/errors.

My son finished up his first ever box of cents. That kid is one lucky sonofagun. He finished out with:
    1907 IHC (his 1st CRH)
    14 Wheats (oldest 1930)
    Counter-stamped 1976D
    2 Canadian 1c
    German 2 Pfennig
and I found a small clipped planchet 1970 when searching for varieties.

After this box I think I definitely have him hooked at 7. I hope he sticks with it.

Got another box of pennies. This one in Loomis type unmarked wrappers. Through five got a pretty nice 1941P wheat.
Going through copper I rolled one said 50 NICE coins.
The first few out were horrid looking. But on down into the roll found enough good ones to go from 30 up to 55.
Also rolled a pretty good 60s roll.
