This is my favorite Ike. I have been carrying it in my pocket for over 30 years and have lost it several times; recliner, car, washing machine etc. Notice the punch mark by his nose, someone before me did that as it wasn't worn nearly as bad as now.
Hey! I can see the REV (Re-entry vehicle) on that one. That means it is a strong strike from an early die! The REV eroded away very quickly on the FEV reverse die. Congrats! I'm currently making payments on a PCGS MS66 FEV from Brian Vaile. It is also a VEDS (very early die state) specimen with an amazing, super crisp strike. Can't wait to get it.
I got this "1975" Ike in the mail today. Thanks again, @dwhiz. It's the perfect companion piece to my "1970" DC O/S. I also recently acquired this awesome 1971-D FEV Ike struck on a proof planchet. It is a stunning specimen to say the least- blindingly shiny! And, of course, I HAD to self-slab it...
I thought I would like to get a better image of Ike's profile, so I stuck in a flashlight reflector. No to bad.
