attribution help on this 1798 large eagle bust dollar

    My reference book is currently in a box somewhere due to a recent move. Can anyone attribute this dollar for me? There is a spike coming out of the left corner of the shield, which may be one of the attributes.

    I can tell ya it's the 13 star variety Zane, that's the best I can do. 'Course I figure ya knew that much :D

    ok, so .. someones gotta tell me ... the dang coins is too good to be true right???? i mean come on, that coins looks awsome... no way a coin that old could be that good... right?????

    im not good at telling fakes from reals (coins fellas!!!) but it just looks wrong to me!!!

    early state of a progressive crack. an anomaly [not a rarity in this case. however, an example of a tds is unique] to have the crack start on a central device.

    i forgot to add. great coin, i like the cut of her jib.

    Am I missing something or just as dense as a log? I'm not seeing the problem with this coin. It looks real enough to me. ?????

    It's certainly beautiful and has very smooth looking surfaces. Sorry I can't help with the attribution though.

    Then what would you say about a coin that is almost 700 years old being in even better condition ?
