A friend recently got this in a collection he bought and thinks he might have a winner. He says the size and weight match Krause. I have doubts and don’t like certain aspects of the coin but would like to hear any informed opinions on it.
It sure looks like it has some originality to it. It has some spots that say it is AU, I am not sure cabinet friction would apply to this coin.

I agree. Looks like a reproduction/fake. Firstly the edge is wrong, the original rouble seems to have a much rougher milled edge also the font and lettering on the obverse look wrong. The last few letters on all MMA roubles are BCEPOC not BCEPOCC.....just a layman's opinion.
That’s what I thought too but he didn’t want to believe my gut feeling. The first thing I noticed was the tail feathers being undefined. Thanks for the link. I’ll send it to him.
I would be extremely surprised if this were the case. While there are some high quality copies made of pure silver which are correct proportions, this is not one of them. My guess is that if weight and diameter are correct, the thickness is above normal.
I emailed him the Alibaba link and then he weighed it and measured it. I guess he was just being optimistic/lazy or intentionally obtuse. He now accepts that it’s a fake. Thanks for all the help guys.
