No Damage lowers the value. It is worth 2 1/2 Cents now since the Reverse is missing. Not a Mint Error
Good morning it appears that you might want to spend a little time in learning the minting process, how could that happened at the mint after it left the mint PMD. As stated. Dave Ps. Please don't take that as a insult or sarcasm.
Obviously Monticello is depicted in mid-blizzard on this nickel. Things can get a little intense on that ridge of hills.
wow, someone really grinded that down. You may want to contact the person you got it from and get some more detailed information of why they did that to a nickel. People do weird things with money. But it's all damage. Maybe it got stuck in something .
It looks like it has been scraped on concrete. I can imagine a scenario where someone wanted to move, say, a heavy wooden box across a cement floor and used four nickels under the corners as "furniture sliders." That would make it slide easier and would result in four coins looking like this one.
Well yes, but it will decrease the value of anything with it. For example, if you pay for something with $1 bill & this nickel, you will only get credit for $0.98!
take the nickel to the bank and exchange it for one that isn't damaged. If you want to make another one just grab a file and go at it.
