Nice Barber Half. I love the even wear and the patina on the coin. Well done.

Thanks, as soon as I saw it I placed the order.
I like Barber Half dollars, this one really caught my eye

The series is growing on me. I recently added one in AU55 for my type set. Plenty of luster left on it. Overall, I think I prefer this coin in XF. The details jump off the coin when the patina is "right". Much like your coin.

Probably my favorite. I just LOVE the Charter Oak tree. I posted this on another thread, but I once passed up a Hammered specimen in an HA auction because there were some other coins I wanted and it was stretching my budget. I still regret it, as I haven't found another one so well struck.

This and the Monroe doctrine are two of my favorite commemorative halfs. Both are for the most part weak strikes.

I need some feed back on these thinking of sending them in for grading. I know the images aren't that great.... however in hand ,they look high Au. Not a series I am familiar with grading. 1913 2.5.jpg 1915 Five.jpg

@Paddy54 , your pics are a little out of focus. Gold is tough enough to judge in pictures. What's your opinion? I think the 1915 $5 has an orange/gold patina, especially on the reverse. Are there any contact marks on Chief's cheek? I think I see a little something, but not too much. I'd give this one a shot, but not the $2.5.

The 15 is sort of orangish gold with some wear on the head dress.
As the 13 has a slight rub on the cheek and behinde the eagles head but as for wear looks like no wear what so ever...all high points crisp.

@Paddy54 . . . I suggest you grade the first and not the second.

    Grade the $5 15 or 2.5 13?

I'd trust Mike's opinion over mine. I believe he's telling you to get the $2.5 '13 graded and not the '15 $5.

Well I know Mike has a good eye on gold....and we have done business in the past...so we do have a relationship, but I also like to hear others opinions no matter if i ageee or not....an extra set of eyes that have no skin in the game are always objective.
