Is this 1982 penny a small date?

I'm having a hard time telling which pennies are small date, right now I'm thinking the 8 on the large date has a big top almost ovular, whereas the small date is a quite circular dot?

Also is this the right section to post?

Small date, although I would suggest that you use the 2 instead of the 8 for determination.

No purpose in keeping these in my opinion. They are worth 1 cent.

I was surprised @Petey that no one asked you to post a pic of the reverse, ;)

I think most are ignoring this thread since the question has been answered & there is no sense (or cents?) in beating this dead horse any further. :banghead::banghead::banghead::dead:

Nope! You see, no one wants to look at all the past threads on this subject & compare their coin to others. They want their own coin, the one they have in hand, to be evaluated specifically.

I used to think it was to quench the need for instant gratification, but now I'm not so sure. I think it's because they have it in hand, they are not knowledgeable enough to read their own coin, and want validation that they found something special. Otherwise, there is a plethora of information on CT (that you & others have provided many times over) to easily ascertain the small/large date issue (as well as all the MD issues).

So we will continue to see several of these same questions every week. It's just the way it is. I keep opening these threads hoping beyond hope that eventually something special will be revealed, but no!
