POMERANIA Bogislaw XIV Burial Half Taler with bust 1654
Bogislaw XIV Burial Half Taler with sun shining over tree stump with 2 young limbs 1654

When Bogislaw died in 1637 during the Thirty Years' War, Swedish and Imperial troops occupied almost all his lands. Finally, under the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, Pomerania was carved up between Sweden and Georg Wilhelm of Brandenburg. Only in 1654 was Bogislaw formally buried in Stettin (and this commemorative coinage issued) after his coffin had laid in a room in the castle for 17 years.

I have a 1653 AV Dukat from Basel.

They were struck from really bad dies, there are about 5 known examples/ all have weakness in center of coin. This ex. was from Spink Auction. 89ad278490bf8c3a39b5c6df5e8a57ba.jpg

Somewhat late again - sorry! - I blame it on the time difference! ;-)

This time a very nicely shaped Russian 1/4 Rouble from 1654.
    Unfortunately a copy... :-(
    Ryssland 1 4 rubel 1654 kopia c.jpg

Then another Solidus from "Swedish" Livonia. Karl X Gustav.

    Livonia solidus 1654 Carl X Gustav Ag 0,42g a.jpg

And three more of the same year, just to show how different they can be in appearance.

And to keep up with the rest of you - more Livonian Solidi. Still under Swedish rule, but now the ruler is Queen Kristina.
Three small and thin silver coins from 1653.

Die combination H (see explanation below).
    EXTREMELY RARE (XR) !
