NGC mistake?

My mother and I share an online account, and I went through today and saw in our spam folder that I got an email from NGC. They were telling me "Dear valued member or something, at such and such a date you are invited to such and such a banquet at the FUN show in January". Now this was a complete accident of mine, and a few months ago I asked for a membership to them so I can send some stuff to be graded, but I was basically told that they didn't really want to get me somehting that has to do with my hobby, something I should save up for and do. Now my question is, did ngc make a mistake ad send it to the wrong address or something, or did I accidently find out one of my Christmas gifts? Sorry if I sound :goof: or :goofer:, I am just a bit currious would NGC accidently make a mistake like this? Thanks ahead of time.

I got the same invite. I am not a paid member of their Collectors Society. However, I am a member in their free group and have a set on their registry. Do you have anything like that?

I too got one, but the big question is "Is anyone going?"

Unfortunately there is no way I can get away from the table for lunch on Saturday of FUN, so I can't go, but I imagine it will be interesting.

 

I wish I could go but it is alittle too far. Maybe someday I'll meet up with ya'll at FUN!!

I am sure the weather in Orlando is much better than what we have predicted for this part of Missouri, but I think I will save my travel moiney for my vacation in June lol

 

As for the invite, it seems like it goes out to Collector's Society members and possibly NGC dealers. I got two of the emails, so I assume they sent it out to people on two different lists.

 

Hmmm, I am not a member of the registry or anything, so I don't know. Thanks all for the help, I was just curious. Thanks for the kind answers I got, although I did get a pm from someone telling me how stupid I am for asking this, and getting called some other names for this "retarded" question. I was just curious as I am not a member of anything that I know of of NGC's, so I was curious. Sorry if this thread got anyone upset, I was just asking a question, please pardon me for that great "sin". Thanks all for the kind help that offered it.

Perhaps someone who is a member asked them to send you an invitation? It's a great luncheon.

 

It's great there! I've probalbly gone 6 times. My dad's has gone every year for 12 years.

 

I got one too...I am a member of NGC though. Too bad I can't make it to FUN...someday...

Nope, not even a member of there boards. Does NGC own Heritage? I had my mom make an account so I can check the completed auctions, just don't buy and sell off of there. Only places I belong to are here, coinlovers forum, coinbug, and heritage. Thanks for the help guys.
