It does look like it's a die chip, but it's not that uncommon to find them on many denominations nor does it add any to the value. Chris
Yes to Die Chip I must point out that it is not a lighthouse. It is known as a lookout point called a Sentry Box. Here I am standing in one of many found at this particular fort -
