Has a lot of die cracks which I didn't picture. I was looking at his eyes and the date mostly. What do you all think? I'm finally going through an 05 buffalo nickel roll that my father got from Loomis Fargo back in 05 when he worked there.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Picture "nickel 6" - heckuva nose, huh?

I don't mean to be offensive, but you have to realize that small die cracks and die breaks hold little value and are hardly scarce in the numismatic community. Granted, there are some people who like to collect them, and there are some people who will (foolishly) pay a premium for them. That is their right. I just don't believe that it is proper to mislead the beginners into thinking that these coins are something special.

who said Rachel was a beginner? where did she ask if it was worth a lot of money? It sounds to me like she loves coins and likes to look for neat things.

I never inferred that she was a beginner. I never inferred that she sought them out for their value. Perhaps you misunderstood what I wrote.

Regardless, I feel that it is important that beginners should be aware of the issues I mentioned.

I just wanted opinions on the date and eyes... why do you assume that you know what I'm posting for? I asked what do you guys think... because I appreciate many peoples opinions on here. In no way was I assuming or trying to make people think that what I had was some miracle of a coin worth thousands of dollars. As for you CPM, I do believe that I just completely lost any respect I had for your opinions.

    Thank you Buckmster.

Check the inside corner of his right eye, that's where I'm talking about specifically. Is it supposed to have that there? And above his lashes on the left eye. All of which show on On Pic #6. I always post many pictures just because there are things I feel like I miss. That is the reason that there are pictures from different areas of the coin. Also check pic 7 on the top part of the 2 and the first 0.

Wake up! I didn't assume anything! Right here, you say that you're asking for opinions. So, I gave you my opinion about die cracks. The only person talking about "miracle coins" or a coin worth "thousands of dollars" is you.

I don't really think that's a really small die crack either though. I wouldn't ever pay a premium for die cracks, but I understand why some people would. It's a personal relationship that everyone has with coins, and no two peoples relationships involve the exact same thing. That is the wounded buffalo crack as well on the reverse.

Nowhere on my OP did I ever say anything about it being worth a bunch and nowhere on any other post did I say it was worth a bunch. I said something about miracle coins and thousands as a response to your post. I said the exact opposite of what your implying. I said that NOWHERE did I say it was worth either of those. So move on little man.

Rachel, I can't see what you're talking about. Probably me as I'm tired today. I'm glad you enjoy the thrill and excitement you feel when you find what you know is a minor error. CR searching is relaxing and fun. :)

Yeah! "Little man" is the way you think. Just like lying naked in bed searching through pennies and looking for a husband who will search pennies with you. Those were your words, too!

    Tata!

The eye looks like a die crack to me but it could very well be part of the design. I'm very much a beginner tho so I'm probably way way off.

The doubleddie.com site has a lot of listings related to die errors, also varietyvista.com. Easiest way is to check their listings for 2005. Another way is to find a few of the same coin and check them through your scope and see if any has the similar/same patterns. At least that's what I would do.

It's how I found an over date (ODV-007) variety for my 1936 buffalo nickel which I've looked at multiple times up close not knowing it was a variety coin all along.

Thanks so much Jay, I'll check there again. I think I seen one that had a doubled eyelid which is what I think this might be. The part that's a little more confusing and trying to figure out what it is would be the top part of the first 0 in 2005. Ill check it out though and I really appreciate your helpful guidance and input.
