You didn't have any Mickey Mantle rookie cards turn to dust? Ignoring me is the choice or option of anyone. Telling people to slab 1964 Lincolns is way beyond heartless. I have expressed my opinion and have no agenda.
Thanks, I don't foresee myself sending that many coins as I don't really have many that are gradeable. Are the vouchers good for lifetime or do they expire when your year sub expires? I was thinking it would still be cheaper than signing up if I was doing it one time...no? Thanks for the reply.
I'm not planning on a law suit, I was thinking more of a way to circumvent the TPGs as an idea to address my issue with their membership fees. I can easily afford the membership fees but it's really the principle. I don't mind paying for the service and giving them business but it's the fact that I have to pay for the "privilege" of giving them business. I know there's a lot that likes the slab but for me, I'm only getting this one coin graded because it's the only way to sell it. It's what coin collectors rely on, the plastic, not so much the coin.
I would personally wait until you have enough coins to become a member directly with the TPGs. It should be around $150 or so for either of them and you get roughly the same value back in submission vouchers. That's what I did for PCGS. With NGC, I joined ANA first, but the next year I paid for the mid-tier membership. And here, you can use this spreadsheet to calculate submission costs.
Yeah, I'll stick to collecting for now. Wow, thanks for that spreadsheet! I'll have a more closer look tonight. Much appreciated !
Wait till you have 8 unless it’s a very valuable one. They last as year. There’s a lot of nonsense that gets posted by angry people like the one poster, it’s a simple math problem for cost though.
Find a friend who wants a tagalong on a slow boat economy submission. Could cost you no more than $25
