OK! Time to cross over one from the 'Attribute This' Thread. This was purchased for $33. I got it for it's die State, a minimum of Die State VI {last described} and possibly a new State VII. I'm suspicious that the damage on the obverse is actually a strike-through, though I'm not familiar enough with errors to know how to verify that.
1926-S Buffalo Nickel $6 (This is a VG, maybe even Fine coin that is simply weakly struck and was thus undergraded by the dealer) 1920-D Buffalo Nickel $0.75 (Found in a pick bin) 1882 IHC, $3.50. FS-502 “Broken 2”. Self grade G-6
@jtlee321 Another gold toned Buff, that will end up with a shiny new gold cac football. As far as NGC Buffs are concerned> You must have atleast a .500 batting average with the gold beans no?
So far, out of the 5 '38-D Buffalo's I've sent in, I've made 2 gold and 3 green. I have 11 more that still need to make the trip. Right now, my count is around 27 coins total that I need to send to CAC. Not looking forward to the bill though.
Here are a couple of recent purchases. I brought these home on Friday. 1965 Washington Quarter that appears to be a superb gem candidate. $5.00 This 1878-S Morgan Dollar which is a Late Die State VAM-46a. $50.00 right on the upper limits of the thread.
Picked this up for $50. I think i got a pretty good deal. Classic head cent for the dansco. thanks for looking!!!
I have a couple more additions to add. I did not have a 1938-D in an old ANA ANACS slab yet. This one became available as a BIN on eBay. I sent an offer to the seller, that was then countered. We settled on a price that was pretty close to the original asking price. I was willing to pay what he wanted, it turned out to be a pretty decent addition. $47.00 typically I pay quite a bit less than this on an MS-65, but I wanted it. I bought this one for the holder. The price was very reasonable as it was bundled with my next purchase. These next two came from my favorite local shop. I paid $18.00 for this 1963 Proof Franklin. And this 1928 Birth year set came along with the Franklin above. I got this set for $40.00.
@jtlee321 - Justin I have a bone to pick with you. You have a lovely ANACS nickel from when ANA owned them. Honest, technically correct grading. After ANA sold it to Amos Press is when they started downhill. The logo in your photograph is from the blue label days when they were owned by Anderson press and embraced Market grading to finish the destruction of the original reputation.
I know. It's been bugging my too. I just have not been able to find a decent Logo from the ANA days. I've been lazy in not recreating the ANA Lamp logo. If I can find a decent source, I'll get around to doing it. Right now, I only have two of the old ANA holders. I do appreciate you chiming in and confirming my suspicion that people will notice.
Go lift it from the ANA membership side (there are downloadable logos). Cut out the white bsckground and drop it over a photo of a sheet of gold leaf. For somebody of your awesome photoshop skills should be a trice.
