Well......I think we all have one. It may be our "bestest" coin. It may be a coin we looks at it; we gaze about it; we are thankful we own it. I will start: Temporally (because I am wanting to add a scarce Double Eagle) mine is: 1877 Indian Head Cent; MS-63RB; CAC & PhotoSeal approved for condition. I have had it now since last year and I LOVE it to death! OK.......now it's your turn. What say you?
This would be mine. Only thing I ever found of any merit. I was guided to the location by a freind. It’s not worth much of anything to speak of but it’s priceless to me. Just gives me chills to think my hands were the first to touch it for 300 or more years.
You guys are doing GREAT! Keep the post coming. I'm fascinated by the "loves" & "likes" of coin collectors. "There's a story behind every coin" .... isn't that a top-hit song? If not,......it should be! Good posting everyone...............
1972-D MS65RB quarter on cent planchet (scratches are on holder). Submitted it to NGC to be reholdered so the rims can show.
Currently it's this one. FS-901, struck with a rusted reverse die. Pop 1, none finer, and the ONLY MS one known.
I wonder how myself. A friend of mine used to work for Brinks in the 1980s. He said he always saw broadstrikes and other weird errors in the mint bags if they weren't sewn up. Used to carry extra change and replace what he took that was cool
A recent trophy. You have to consider the first date of issue (March 24, 1964) of the 1964 Kennedy half-dollar. You have to consider the signature of President Johnson on a White House letter that states ""...among the first...". You have to consider the establishment of the documented provenance (unbroken chain of ownership) of President Johnson-to-Congressman Stephens-to-DrDarryl (me).
