not a hit piece, my original question was how did this coin get a cac sticker? Now my understanding of a cac sticker was wrong, which I said was wrong, so I'm not trashing cac, I'm just trying to figure out whats the basic value of this coin, and understand why it got a cac sticker, which I kinda do now. Yes I'm new and we poked fun at cac for this one, but Im not bashing them, trying to give them a bad name. I mean come on actual dealers who own shops and make a living dealing coins, almost laughed at it for having a bean. But I don't wanna continue anymore and get people anymore upset, im sure you guys have more important things to talk about on this coin forum than this coin. good thing I didn't post the 87 morgan with a bean people woulda lost their minds. OUT.
This coin probably as @Beefer518 said has 66 luster, and may very well be bag mark free, It should get an MS66 grade, but the tpg nocked it down a grade, because of eye appeal. CAC is saying that it is with out a doubt a 65 in todays market.
Which means nothing in all honesty. Bet they'd be talking about a beautiful gem quarter if it was in their inventory.
I you had one of those scale model motor boats it would make a good anchor! I am not going to guess what you paid because I can't imagine buying it!
Well that's reassuring to hear. Thanks. Honestly I knew you couldn't have meant dollars unless you get ripped-off a lot buying coins.
Well he wanted someone to guess I assumed if he was new doing this and it was in a case he probably paid around that for it. LOL Dave
I agree; and I wouldn't equate someone's coin to a 'trash' coin, or a 'junk' coin. If it was a trash coin, or a junk coin, I wouldn't call [someone else's] coin a 'trash' coin, or a 'junk' coin. Not too cool.......
So, what does it cost me to send a coin to CAC, have it beaned, then have them send it back to me? Do they require Registered mail? That starts at just under $20.
Registered mail is cheap just slow. How many coins are you sending? If the shipping cost is an issue I would assume they're lower value and you would save them up for more coins before sending. I don't know if you have private insurance either or what their rate is for you.
I don't send in one coin at a time, but I don't think anyone that would want to send an MS65 1963-D Quarter to them would be sending in 10 or 20 coins. Registered mail starts at $11.90, which means you can get a Green Bean for $8.90. Is that what you pay for CAC stickers?
I guess that tells me it is more than $8.90. Don't have to pay if it doesn't sticker, but still have to pay postage both ways.
