Tonight I stopped at a credit union where I’ve found a few 40% halves in loose coins over the past year. The vault teller announced they had $600 in halves. I smelled a dump, but I decided to buy $200 worth. Turned out she was kind enough to sell me $100 in unopened MWRs in addition to the $100 of CWRs clearly marked as someone’s dump. She told me the remaining $400 in CWRs were also marked.

I searched the $100 in marked CWRs tonight to get the pain over with sooner rather than later...sure enough, nada:grumpy:. I’ll search the $100 in MWRs later.

I’m bummed this cu is now someone’s dump spot because now I must avoid it until the dump is gone :meh:

Through 20 penny rolls nothing newer than 2014.
Could this be the box that time forgot?

Keep an eye open for the Native and Presidential dollars missing the edge lettering. There have also been some reported with double edge-lettering.

Banks have always been happy to let me haul away all the dollar coins they have. A few paper bills is easier to count than a bunch of heavy coins.

In small dollars I have never really found anything more interesting than a few proof coins and the non-circulated varieties. The 1999-D Susan B Anthony I would consider a good find as that is only the second one of those I have come across.

Sadly I don't think there are any missing edge lettering in this batch. I would have noticed that during my initial sort identifying the mint marks. I could have missed some double edge lettering, but plan to have another look. Although I'm dizzy with staring at coin edges, that's the worst part of sorting small dollars!

The 1999's were a special deal for the Nevado casinos who were running out of the earlier dated coins. Saved them the money they'd have used to mint Casino tokens. Very common date, but not uniformly circulated throughout the US because the new 2000 Sac's were pushed out to replace them.

Have continued to search nickels, skeptical of possibility to find them all. Yesterday, bought a box. In the 5th roll was a 1939 D in decent condition! Also, two days ago bought $20 nickels and found the first 2018 D nickel in marginally UNC condition. See scans below.

Is it just me or is there a strong P mint mark on this 2000 dime? 14065792-0B8C-4F93-8D44-553B04DE3A2E.jpeg

You may get better responses by starting a thread for this coin.

Wow. Try to explain that one. I just picked up a box of cents. All kinda dark brown on the ends. Gotta be older then 2014s in that box. Hope your luck changes

Alright, only got my hands on 1 box of halves this week and it yielded two 64's and one 66. I am going on a business trip to Wyoming next week. Will do lot's of hunting to and from. Hopefully I will have some luck. Great to hunt on business trips as I don't pay for gas!

@JayF 1984 Philly is the doubled ear coin. Not 84D. There are several minor doubled dies for that year/mm though.

On my second pass through $1400 in small dollars, I came across a clearly Wide Rim 1979P Susan B Anthony. My first find of this variety.
