I'm rather proud of this set and wanted to share it with all of you that REALLY look at your currency. I managed to complete the entire 9 note set of 1996 $20 star notes from circulation when I ran a truck stop. Took a while believe me but I got all of these notes at face value. Grades from XF-CU except the New York note (go figure RickieB). Lots of pics but some great serial numbers as well so check them out currency hounds. It CAN be done. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0003-3.jpg (Boston) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0004-3.jpg (New York) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0005-2.jpg (Philadelphia) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0006-2.jpg (Cleveland) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0007-2.jpg (Richmond) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0008-2.jpg (Atlanta) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0009-2.jpg (Chicago) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0010-1.jpg (St. Louis) http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0011-1.jpg (San Francisco) Yes, I do have duplicates of many of these notes. Kept ALL St. Louis notes with a printing of 640,000 - have six of them. Just shows how currency can get expensive but worth every penny at face value. Hope you guys enjoy these.
That's a sweet collection. Do you actually buy and cash in notes, or are these finds from a job where you deal with cash???
These all came from a job I USED to work at. I ran a truck stop and figure I went through at least $3 million a year so I got to look at a lot of money. I was working there when they changed the design of the 100, 50 and 20 dollar notes so I picked them up at face. Now being in a truck stop I also had people from all over the country coming there at some point. That's how I ended up with all of the districts. Still, it took me well over a year to accomplish it. That's the ONLY thing I miss about that job.
Right on Clembo. My currency book from Ebay got here today, I'm going to study and start collecting a set of FRN's, something I can get from pocket for now.
Wow, well done clembo! Very nice notes. :thumb: Only if that New York note was CU, then I could see RickieB around the corner. Job well done clembo. :thumb: Phoenix
super cool clembo!!! :thumb: good job! i understand your coment on it being the ONLY thing you miss about that job lol i have had retial jobs handling cash (no where near the amoutn you had though) and although i miss the cash searching... i am SO glad not to be in retail anymore!!!
So Jack - a currency man now? What book did you get? I really haven't been up too much on my "studies" but I still have a good feel what to look for. You'll like currency as there is SO much out there to find at face value. Keep us all posted on what you find.
