Well this has been addressed in at least 3 identical posts/ threads, so my politeness restriction has been lifted.

The 1982-D SMALL DATE "copper" is the one everybody seems to be searching for, but you've probably better luck winning the powerball twice in a row than of finding one.

I have an 82 small date copper penny. How common are these and what are they worth?

They made 17 billion pennies in 1982.
Unless it is a mint state small date Philly zinc or copper,
almost all of them are worth 1 cent.
Yes yours is a small date Philly (copper, the zincs are harder to find in that one) the condition is not strong enough to command a premium.

Well I think that there are more copper ones than zinc ones.because I have 5 1982 and looking at them, you can see the zinc one which is a small date.the others are large and copper
