I think Mr. @dougsmit h's idea about including general information about what part of the world we live is a good one. It might be good to include the approximate date that we started collecting ancients and what type of coins we are currently interested in collecting. I'll check out my profile today and add that information if it's not already there.
I'm a newby, and I have never figured out how to start a new thread. The instructions I found posted didn't work. I also keep getting a message at the top of the page that says that my account is awaiting confirmation, and that is was sent to my email address, but I have never received it. I have clicked on the "send again" button several times, but still I have the message and no confirmation. Can anybody help me with this? I have several coins I want to post.
I can't find a place to enter location or other info. Is this option open only to Supporters? I don't see a place to add other info...Sorry to be so thick about this.
Greetings Dr. Richardson—If you click and hold your cursor on your name in the blue bar at the top of the page, there is a pulldown list of features. You can add more information under personal details if you like.
What I'm getting is that when you select "new thread" it won't let you as your account isn't fully set up. I would either try checking to make sure you have the correct email entered, contacting support, or starting over and making a new account. Hopefully we get to see these coins of yours soon!
Ah, thanks @Deacon Ray for the "Profile Update for Dummies" screenshot. That's exactly what I needed.
Thats okay! Someone from the forum had to show me how to do it also. I don't remember who it was. It may have been my friend Erin @Johndakerftw
I never see "new thread" although I've searched. I will check Spam, but I get the newsletter everyday, so my email must be correct. Thanks for helping.
@Granbeck , when I am on the main page: https://www.cointalk.com/forums/ancients/ the top of the page looks like this: See where it says "Post new thread"? (In a blue box, right of center top). I hope this helps.
Thanks for the instructions, I typed this up as soon as I finished beating my chest!!! And hey, you wouldn't have known I was American if not for Doug's profile update suggestion. It's already working! Edit: And look at that shiny green badge over there <--- I'm awesome!!
Hey, that’s four different members of the Green Banner Club in a row. Too late for St. Paddy’s day, but nice to see anyway. Steve
We consider people from Hotlanta as American? Just kidding, I was in Athens at UGa for 4-5 years and we used to go over there often.
My info is up to date, I just changed my mood because I paid as a supporter on March 6th and they still can't figure out why the software won't credit me with it and give me my green banner
I grew up in Indiana, moved to Atlanta almost 3 years ago for a job. I went to school in SC (Clemson) for 12 years before that. Atlanta isn't too bad, but I feel as though I've been in the South for too long. I'm starting to talk funny!! If you check my profile, you will see that March 6th is my birthday. I knew this profile update thing was working, but this is getting a little freaky!!
