Bronze AE coin of Constans 337-350 A.D. Reverse legend reads GLORIA EXERCITVS "Glory of the army", Two soldiers standing, standard with chi rho between them. Obverse reads I believe DN CONSTANS PF AVG
Yeah i don't think I'm gonna sell it, as it's my only ancient coin. It's cool to think that a person more than 1500 years ago was holding the same coin in their hand.
Awesome. Some cool side notes about him for you: -He was a son of Constantine the Great! (Hence the chi rho at the top of your standard). -He co ruled with his brother Constantius ii until he was murdered by one of his generals Magnentius (we have a great thread with a bunch of the chubby wanna be emperor's coins towards the top of the 1st page now). -He was absolutely FABULOUS and hence never married nor had kids. As a side note, the Constantine family is a really fun, cool and inexpensive group to collect (then your ancients wouldn't be limited to just 1).
@Wheatmaster101 -- one last fun fact: The writing in the exergue (BSIS) indicates it was struck at the Siscia mint, which is the present Croatian city of Sisak.
