Found this gem in a bankroll... Its pretty cool just can't find anything on its value. Can anybody take a guess?
Well sometimes on CT that's all it is a guess what is it your seeing that makes you believe that you have something of value. All I'am seeing is a very well circulated Cent, based on the pics maybe something above hairline try pointing out what you are seeing. JMHO Dave
1974 cents are not clad composition. They are a copper-zinc alloy. It's impossible for your con to be missing a clad layer. Just to stir the pot a bit, maybe you have the illusive 1974 aluminum cent. How much does it weigh? Don't get your hopes up. You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning 146 times than you do finding an experimental aluminum cent in circulation.
Same to you, buddy; this was addressed in the post you find so offensive. Next time put a little more effort into your feigned outrage. Here.... I'll ask again, this time highlighting the obvious to make it easier for you: Why possibly give someone even the tiniest bit of hope when there simply is no hope to be had?
I may be new here, but I'm learning quickly who is here to troll and who is here to add value to the forum. Have a nice day BooksB4Coins.
Although certainly not to the level of some others, I'll happily stand behind my contributions to this forum, sir. Come back, oh, maybe sometime in the middle of the next decade so we can compare. Then, and only then will it be worth giving you or this nonsense due consideration. It was an honest question, but feel free to deflect away or do whatever you feel necessary to avoid very simply explaining your position. Still, I would like to think most folks reading this will see little "value" in your questioned post, especially considering the fact we're on a forum already frequented by folks desperately hoping to "strike it rich" with their "pocket change". Had you been willing to reasonably explain how the OP coin could be the suggested, even if only a one in a quadrillion chance, it would have added much more to this thread and forum than the senseless whining.
@Jimmyst I apologize for my part in destroying your thread. You asked a valid question and I tried to provide a meaningful answer. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to get dragged into an argument. While your coin is not unique or valuable, I hope you keep looking and learn to enjoy this hobby add much as I do.
Jimmy welcom to the forum! In 1974 1cent coins were copper. In 1982 they began to transition to copper plated zinc. So in order for a cent to missing it's plating it would have to be after 1981. Hope thos helps!
