While both of those have problems, I like Flying Eagle cents with that look. There's something about that short-lived copper-nickel alloy they used on those and the earliest Indian cents. It often picked up a darkish tone like that, which sets off the design nicely.

That Flyer there is far from a perfect coin due to its issues, but it's about as good a CircCam as you'll see, in terms of contrast. It's eye-catching.

It is tricky finding copper and copper-nickel CircCams that don't stray into "environmental damage" territory, or have other problems. That's a pretty fine line sometimes.

Here are a few. The cent is a daily pocket piece and has been since August of last year.

Wow, that's a groovy V-nick! A perfect black-and-white CircCam- and seemingly without straying into "environmental damage" territory, which is a fine line on copper-nickel coinage, as you may know. @Lunchbox John has a natural eye for this kind of stuff!

A denarius of the empress Sabina from my old "A to Z" (Augustus to Zeno) Roman portrait collection.

Vibia Sabina (d. 136-137 AD) was the wife of the emperor Hadrian.

At the time (10 years ago) I thought this was an exceedingly cool coin for under a hundred bucks. I still feel that way.

Speaking of relatively inexpensive ancient silver with CircCam contrast... did I post this already? Can't remember. Too lazy to go back and look.

This a much more recent purchase for my present-day Eclectic Box collection. Sixty bucks well spent, I say. (Thanks, @Ken Dorney!)

Look how utterly enormous it is! Why, I almost strained my back, picking it up to take these photos! ;)

Wow that's one heck of a set to complete. I just decided to do the 12 Caesars Set with my dad, and will be getting a Vespasian denarius soon.

I don't think anybody can truly complete such a set like that sweeping Augustus-to-Zeno one I was working on in 2007-08. That's one of those where you just kinda go as far with it as you can. I managed to get over 100 different emperors and empresses in a little over a year, so I'm proud of that. The next time I did Romans (in 2011-2013) I just focused on the Twelve Caesars myself. Enjoy that journey! It's a nice and short (but challenging) collection, from a very interesting period.

Here's my circ cam. Sort of like a perfect example if you ask me.

    Indeed it is.

I was also impressed with the 1795 large cent on your website. It has a bit of that elusive copper CircCam look, that's hard to come by with a problem-free coin.
