Mini me, you complete me! Well, technically it will be a hunt for me. Several War nickels have alluded me over the last 3 months of moderate to heavy nickel roll hunting. Lol, probably lightwork to what some of you guys do/have done! I’ve yet to buy a whole box! Luckily the tellers at Chase bank allow me to exchange rolls for rolls. Be kind to tellers , totally worth it! Anyway, these just came in today ( ordered Monday) paid the extra 12$ for UPS ground instead of Priority USPS. (Had a scare last time with them ,may never go back to using them.) in all I paid about $1.10 for each coin, & that’s with the shipping included and divided amongst the other products. Before shipping they were <1$ each! New to ordering through Apmex but have 0 complaints with them. Might change after I look through these nickels! Lol. I almost don’t even want to open them! Also took a swing at their $1.00 face value of barber coins. Not the best deal , and with 2 of the four repeated dates I wasn’t so thrilled but, they finally popped my Barber Quarter Cherry! I’ll post the other goodies later in this thread for those interested. Got a handful of BU-Tiful pieces! Gotta weigh and test em , as always!
so, finally sorted threw the nickels and I’m not sure how to feel. I did receive 3 of the 5 War nickels I’ve been looking for, leaving my collection 2 short from complete. I got a decent 46S that spares my AU 46S it’s place in my album. I’m also very glad to have recieved 2 45D’s, 1 good and 1 AU. What’s dragging all these good things down is the 1942 Plain (Non Silver ) Nickel I received. Now I have to back and make sure the guarantee was for 35%ers so maybe they can exchange this coin. Hell they owe me about 2grams of silver the way I see it! I’d like to wish this is some weird transition coin that is silver without a mint mark but I’m not lucky like that.
I left an email at their customer service since it was the weekend, haven’t received anything back in regards to the coin. I’ve been super busy. Hopefully will get in contact over the next 3 days as I’m off of work!
Post a picture of the back of the coin please. And a pic close up above the dome. The patina makes it look silver.
So, they wound up never replying to me email, HOWEVER today in the mail I recieved the missing war nickel. Never even had to send back the non-silver 1942. Customer Satisfied.
So it only weighs 4.49 grams. Quite below the other worn silver nickels. The one they sent was a common 43P but atleast they fixed the error.
