Lotta pics here. Follow the line from the hairline down his forehead, nose, chin and neck. The lower eyelid appears to possibly be doubled.

Looks like machine doubling to me, and the natural result of easy access to powerful microscopes... ;)

I'm unsure of the proof process, just that it's done slower on more polished dies.

I dont want to say it but, it looks good.
From everything ive learned about modern doubling it has to be machine doubled. But wow!!!! It looks good

Hhhmmm....Not sure about the eye area, but that nose, lips, and chin looks like a Doubled die. Boy, that is a good one. I don't see any listings anywhere for a DDO on this date on the dime. Wait for some other opinions, but I would think about sending it John Wexler or Mr. Wiles at Variety Vista to get it looked at.

    I just sent John 8 coins yesterday. Here's a teaser 12a.jpg shot of 1.

I'll be following this thread with interest. Looks like I may need to adjust my mental filters a bit.

No need. I was reprimanded for my microscope use. I will do my best to describe any further finds.

I agree! The chin, for sure, looks like a DDO.

It's really prominent under my electron microscope!

Is there any splitting on the lettering?

Can you see electrons with that?

Electrons are the only thing you see with a visible-light camera. Light doesn't interact with the nucleus at all, only the electron cloud.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I do believe this coin to be well within the single squeeze era, and for this reason alone am somewhat hesitant to place much weight in the resemblance to known doubled dies produced via the old process.

With the hopes he doesn't mind, perhaps @desertgem would be willing to share this thoughts?

Since these are single squeeze hoping dies most doubling if present tends to be closer to the center of the coin, so you can have a doubled die and not show any doubling on the lettering. A better place to look would be on Roosevelt's ear. It's very close to the center, detailed, and much more likely to show doubling on a single squeeze doubled die.
