I went to my bank again today, and a very pleasant experience. They tell me that an elderly gentleman came in today and cashed in $1000 in older notes. I almost choked. I got real excited, cause I just cahsed a big money order I just got and has a good $150 on me. I asked to see them, and to my surprise they were all 100's and 50's. :headbang: :goof: Well, best part of it all is they were all AU/CU. I obviously couldn't take them all (wish :D), but I did grab a $100 and a $50/ They are both like new, slight fold in the center, so I don't know if they would be AU or CU, the fold is actually like they were wrapped around the other notes. Overall some very nice notes. The $50 is a 1969, D, serial number D01042625A, while the hundred is a 1985, I, serial number I03040856A. Any value to these anyone think? Unfortunatly can't keep them and probably will have to spend them if I don't find someone that will want them, but I couldn't resist atlease grabbing them then them going to the shredder. Also another highlight is my teller told me :)D) that there is a drawer there that has silver in it, she just has to wait till the teller that runs it comes to work, then she'll buy the silver for face and call me. So another highlight to my visit. :D Here are the pics, tell me what you think guys:

Amazing! I like how James Baker's signature on the 100 goes into the border.

Man, I didn't notice that! Good eye! :thumb: It is a bit off set, sweet. Would this be considered an error? Would this add a little value possibly? Man, wish I checked those other notes for this too. Wish I could have gotten those other notes too! Thanks man!

Thanks man, only wish I could though. They are going to a very good home now though, saved them from that shredder! Thanks.

And no anyone, I didn't sell them, I swapped them for face, as I am clueless on values of paper money. Does anyone have a good paper money price guide they recomend? Thanks.

    Nice Notes Phoenix....

You are swapping the for face? Perhaps you might call a few dealers and see if they might give you a few bucks over face!!

    Worth a try ya know...

    Nice notes!!

dang man! if i were you i'd have my parents loan me $1,000 so i could buy those. then i would sell them to a dealer, give my parents the $1,000 back, and get a profit! :thumb:

Ehh, honestly to me not worth the trouble. My dealer is only open on weekends, and sometimes see him turn away older notes like this, just not interested in them. And I know they are going to a good collector. Thanks though man. And you know who I would have offered them to first if they were NEw Yorkers. :D

Cool, thanks man. Might pick myself up a copy, might do a set of paper money here soon, we'll see. :D

Lol, you obviously don't know my parents. :D They'd help me out, but I don't think that much. :D Thanks though man! :thumb:

    Thanks for all the responses!
