Does this coin have any value? I could not find one on the PCGS Price guide for XF Details.

    Any comments would be appreciated. 1859_1c_o1.jpg 1859_1c_r1.jpg 1859_1c_o2.jpg 1859_1c_r2.jpg

Of course it has value. The only question is how much.

Unfortunately, with something like this, connecting with the right buyer is paramount and simply because many/most collectors prefer to avoid such problems.

At this point the best you can probably do is try to compare sold prices to similar coins and try to make an educated guess.

    Quoted for truth.

I sold a proof Trade Dollar that had been holed, engraved with a message, and worn (as jewelry!) down to XF details. After getting it slabbed by PCGS, I sold it for about half the value of an undamaged PR61-62. But it took a while for that one buyer to come across the listing; most offers were much lower (a quarter or less of the undamaged value).

This cent is clearly a proof, and not terribly damaged IMHO. I'd think there would be multiple buyers out there somewhere.

Out of curiosity, if that coin were broken out and re-submitted to either the same grader or another of the "big 3", what would it come back?
