Anyone ever CRH Hawaii? I’m in Hawaii on vacation and am considering poking around at a few banks on an upcoming rainy day... I would like to find a single silver half dollar so I can mark Hawaii off my list of “silver states”, though it’s not critical this trip because I’ll be returning to Hawaii again. I’m on island time and feeling no pressure (and admittedly lacking motivation)!

That's all I seem to get done is sorting it seems but once I get done I'm rolling them all by year and putting them in buckets. Instead of the bank I'm putting it in coins and silver, gold will come later. But i just enjoy the thrill and beauty of the coins.

Yeah the hunt is a huge part of it. As a child I collected a ton of different card games. Every time I crack a roll of coins it’s like opening that fresh pack of trading cards looking for the rare ones. Did a 20$ nickel search again today will have the results and my sorting board below.2 hole fillers, about average. Did complete my third spare 70’s decade collection. It’s exactly 20 coins lol. Not sure why my sort board pic came out upside down.

Finished 7 boxes of halves this week. The CU had an extra box from a guy who ordered last week but didn't pick them up. They asked if I wanted and of course I said yes. Told them that I will always take whatever they have.
This week's boxes weren't as fruitful as last week but I am still happy with results :)

5 more rolls and this box is finished.
Told Trish that I'd have it tomorrow. She said she'd buy it Wednesday for sure. I also have a nickel and a dime roll to turn in. Depending on my check Wednesday we'll see what happens.

I've seen coins listed on there but have never really thought about using Amazon as as source. Perhaps I'll give it a try!

Of course not! I would only suggest making it as personal to as you can. Everyone looks for different things. I’m changing mine soon. I completed 3 sets of the 1970s decade. Still need 2 1960plains to complete 2 1960s decade. I’ll be working on the 80s and 90s next. Tonight I’ll snap some photos of all my books and post them here for ya. I just got some modern books in the mail last night!

Nice job! I haven’t gotten to 50cent rolls just yet. This Friday I’ll be opening a bank account ( the county I work for is forcing me to get direct deposit) in the meantime I’m going to see which banks will be best for me to hunt. Right now it’s looking like Chase bank. The tellers are already awesome and helping me just go in and exchange searched rolls for new rolls all the time!

I wouldn't do that too often. You will either start running into your searches or you will wear out your welcome. It's usually not a good idea to dump where you pick up.

Definitely know that one! I do mark the rolls I give back and the tellers know to give me rolls fresh from the box. The Chase is also in a (big)mini mall and i live in a very populated city so they go through a ton of coins regardless. I do most of my dumping when I buy cigarettes at the gas station. The cashiers there are also cool since I’m such a regular customer. I’ve handed them 9$ in pennies for a pack of smokes once or twice. No hard feelings yet! Lol

It will be interesting to see if the second bank in town has a box and what is in the box.

Half Dollar box #6 yielded no silver but it did contain 7 NIFC's so it wasn't a total skunk. I don't mind the occasional NIFC but, if I'm going to settle for them, I wish I'd land a couple of 87's.

1969 wouldn’t be silver, although I think they may have been low mintage . That roll looks old though! Any luck?

Wish I knew why I called that roll 6++.
Fully half of them are no better than 6.5 or 6.
25 of them I could see calling them 6.97 to 9.
Not at all sure where I'll get 25 more that nice.
