Well, the time has come to clean out my atrociously messy and disorganized scriptorium/den and get rid of an enormous amount of extraneous stuff. “She who must be obeyed” (ref: Rumpole of the Bailey) - my darling Beverly, has decreed that I can only comfortably maintain one bookshelf. What to do with the rest of my large accumulation of books, etc.? Well, most I will gift to the Tucson “Friends of the Library” which is a very noble and worthy cause. But I am also going to gift a selection of Ancient coin reference books to members of this Forum. The books I offer will, out of necessity, be of small size and bulk - ones I can comfortably ship at fairly inexpensive mailing fees. Here is my first offering ..... ..... these are little pamphlets of thirty or so pages but they do have some very good reference coin images. For this trial run, I ask those who are interested to post a “yes I am interested” message to this thread by 15 March 2018 (an appropriate date I think). I will put those names in a hat and have Beverly draw a winnerr - then send off the book(s). If all goes well I will repeat this from time to time. Edit: I am splitting this offer into two books - please indicate Augustus or Vindex/Galba - or both separately. Sorry to have messed up this offering - it is a learning process for me.
Definitely interested, but you might want to specify U.S. only, as I'm sure the shipping to Canada might be prohibitively expensive.
Thank you @Severus Alexander - I hadn’t considered that. So I must modify my offer: I will only mail these books to US addresses, sorry. Edit: Please indicate Augustus or Vindex/Galba - or both separately.
@Alegandron has offered to forward the book(s) to you if you are a winner - he has done that before with coins I have offered (I have a hard time filling out forms etc. at the Post Office due to my infirmities) - what a nice guy!
Very nice of you my friend. Oh, how I understand the "She who must be obeyed" slogan. Anyone with a wife understands. I'm always interested in building my library of understanding.
Thanks @jamesicus! (and @Alegandron). This is a very generous offer. I would be interested in the Augustus
The book winners: Augustus: @Gavin Richardson Vindex/Galba: @Jwt708 Please send me your snail mail address via Personal Message.
