I managed to get out to the local coin show today. It was fun but I was a bit disappointed with the selection of ancients. I only recognized one ancient dealer, the rest were mainly modern dealers selling overpriced ancients. I was able to get two Republicans and my first Parthian. All three were bought from Robert at Calgary Coin. Very nice guy who taught me quite a bit about the striking process. RR Anonymous AR Victoriatus 211-208 BC. Head of Jupiter/ Victory crowning trophy. RR L. Papius AR Serrate Denarius 79 BC Rome mint. Head of Juno Sospia right, half fish behind / Griffin right, fish below. Parthia Orodes II AR Drachm 57-39 BC Mithradatkart Mint. Head of Orodes left / Seated archer right. Post anything you feel relevant!
Nice! That Papius is my old coin! I sold it to Robert last year. It's also ex-ANE http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-136209
Nice coins like all three Ajax, This is where you get to find out through collusion who got a bargain and who didn't...

No, I got that coin from Sveto at ANE. He got it from a very old collection. All the coins were in those old envelopes with hand written notes. There were hundreds of them and I still see them come up for sale from time to time.
Great coin show purchases. All winners. Here is a Victoriatus Roman Republic AR Victoriatus, Anonymous, ca. 211-208 B.C. Uncertain mint(traditionally, Vibo Valentia). Laureate head of Jupiter right. Border of dots Victory standing right, crowning trophy with wreath; between, VB; in exergue, ROMA. Line border. Crawford 95/1a Notes: Traveling Roman Military Mint in Southern Italy
Nice coins you got from the coinshow @Ajax And I really enjoy the idea of ancients travelling from one CT member to another via dealers or whatever. That's what makes it a community Q

Very nice coins, congrats! In case you're wondering, the Parthian looks like a Sellwood 47.9 from Mithradatkart...the Eastern part of the empire.
