Congratulations on having such a great coin, I hope to get one someday.....alas their their not getting any cheaper..
No, they sure aren't. I had a $500/coin max budget in my old Twelve Caesars collection, and only barely managed to acquire the coin above for less than that price. It was low grade and not the loveliest specimen, but it had a reasonably clear portrait (which someone on Collectors Universe said looked like Bart Simpson- haha) and most of Caesar's name readable. It did have "character", and the bankers' marks added to that, I thought. I wanted a lifetime issue. It's hard to beat the historical significance of these. I've heard them referred to as "The Coin that Killed Caesar".
Nice one. My BVCA has Venus seated CAESAR DICT PERPETVO laureate head of Julius Caesar right L BVCA Venus seated right holding Victory on extended right hand, transverse scepter in left Struck Feb - Mar 14th, 44 BC. RCV 1410, RSC 24. Venus seated' only appears on this one type of Caesar's 'lifetime' issues, on the remainder she is standing. Lucius Aemilius Buca was a distant relative of the dictator Sulla. This coin was struck within a month of Caesar's murder. Ex-Incitatus, Ex-CNG Electronic Auction 223, lot 393 http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-88096
People are probably tired of hearing about how I put my collection together just by cleaning uncleaned coins, keeping what I liked and selling the rest on eBay and then using the profits to buy either another batch of UACs or an already cleaned coin of a specific, needed emperor. (Collective yawn.) Here's the one exception. I bought this coin--knowing I could never afford one via my usual methods--with money I inherited when my grandmother died (age 95!) about 15 years ago. She left me about $5,000. I bought this coin and a complete set of RIC, and still had a little left over to put toward the cost of a woodworking shop that I was building in my back yard: Silver Denarius Rome mint, 44 B.C. Very nice @jamesicus ! I got mine last year. I wanted the Veiled type, as he was always insistent in his role of Pontifex Maximus... Fourree is the only way I will be getting one of these unpopular Brutus coins. I can not believe what fourree EID MAR denarii sell for so I won't be getting one of those.

Wow, it's time to go to bed. I could've sworn I just saw @Mat post a slabbed ancient. Yea, I know. Crazy, right? Must be the Nyquil.
