My $38 purchase. A 1848 Braided Hair cent with a re-punched date.

 

I'm looking forward to attributing the late dates. I Just purchased the complete six volume set of Noyes which includes late date information I've never had. Unfortunately, that was NOT an under $50 purchase.

 

Here's what the date looks like up close as well the ddo, and for the amount paid I am very happy with the coin

Good idea. It looks like a great candidate to have some work commissioned on with a nice clear date and other bold features. There's a lot of metal to work with.

This is a 1952s PCGS MS-65rd I picked up for $15. I liked the unique die gouges on the reverse.

 

No..... as those of us from that generation paid face.... until late 65 /66...
